History

Gulliksson Advocates has its origin in the patent law firm Ström & Gulliksson. Right from the start in 1975 the idea behind Ström & Gulliksson was to combine a law practice with patent attorney services in the same way as many international intellectual property firms do. In 1998 Ström & Gulliksson became a combined law and intellectual property firm which was a unique occurence in Sweden. Once Ström & Gulliksson joined the international business group Arator in 2001, it became apparent that the company’s legal activities had to be transferred to a separate company, Gulliksson Advocates. Patent-related activities continued within Ström & Gulliksson which went on to become a subsidiary of the Arator Group. Although the business areas of Ström & Gulliksson and Gulliksson Advocates now run separately, we continue to collaborate in shared offices at several locations in Sweden. In this way we can offer our clients a complete range of services within the field of intellectual property rights.
